Designed as a whole-school approach, Jigsaw PSHE / Health and Well-being provides a detailed and comprehensive scheme of learning for ages 3-16. Jigsaw makes teachers’ lives easier by providing well-structured, progressive lesson plans with all teaching resources included.
Jigsaw is a unique, spiral, progressive and effective scheme of work, aiming to prepare children/young people for life, helping them really know and value who they are and understand how they relate to other people in this ever-changing world.
With strong emphasis on emotional literacy, building resilience and nurturing mental and physical health, Jigsaw properly equips schools to deliver engaging and relevant PSHE within a whole-school approach. Jigsaw lessons also include mindfulness allowing children to advance their emotional awareness, concentration and focus.
Written by RE specialist teachers in the Jigsaw team and trialled by 100 schools, the weekly lesson plans include all the resources required to deliver RE. An integral assessment process and accompanying assemblies make Jigsaw RE the first of its kind, and the vehicle to transform statutory RE in the primary school.
It adopts an enquiry-based worldview approach to teaching and learning with much flexibility and choice of when to include which religion/worldview.
Jigsaw RE provides 80+ half-termly enquiries, integral assessment process, assemblies (acts of collective worship), training webinars and mentoring included.
The Jigsaw Families Programme is an innovative programme supporting children and their care-givers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to develop healthy, strong, lasting and loving relationships.
Jigsaw Families sessions provide an informal, friendly and safe environment to explore the challenges of being a parent and offers strategies to help meet families’ needs and build a richer engagement with the facilitating school/setting.
Resilience equips children for life and underpins their capacity to learn and succeed. Jigsaw Resilience recognises that emotional resilience can be taught, practised and developed to nurture self-sufficiency and self-awareness in children and young people.
Built into Jigsaw PSHE. It is a short programme which allows schools to measure pupils’ resilience levels and to act on that information as necessary using the current Jigsaw PSHE materials.
