Why Take Part?

Spending time outdoors has a powerful impact on mental health and well-being, helping children feel calmer, more focused, and emotionally resilient. Outdoor learning “improves children’s health, enhances their well-being and self-esteem” (Natural Resources Wales, 2025). It provides a natural way to reduce stress and anxiety. Research also shows that time in nature supports mindfulness, relaxation, and positive mood regulation, creating a healthier, happier learning environment (Mind, 2025).

This resource pack makes it easy for any school to integrate outdoor well-being activities, no matter their outdoor space. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to celebrate Wales Outdoor Learning Week and encourage more time outside!
