For us, this isn’t about ticking a box for statutory RSHE. It is about equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and self-awareness they need to navigate friendships, mental health, identity, relationships, and life beyond school.

What’s inside each Puzzle Piece?

Jigsaw PSHE 11–16 is built around six carefully designed Puzzle Pieces each year.

These give your curriculum a clear structure and help students build on their learning as they move through school.

Here’s what each Puzzle Piece covers:

Being Me in My World helps students to understand their own identity, place in school, and wider society. Topics include self-image, personal responsibility, rights and responsibilities, and aspirations for the future.

Celebrating Difference focuses on diversity, respect and inclusion, helping to create a safer, more accepting school community. This piece explores prejudice, discrimination, challenging stereotypes and understanding different perspectives.

Dreams and Goals supports students in setting goals, exploring future options and developing resilience. It covers financial education, career pathways, decision-making skills and overcoming setbacks.

Healthy Me covers mental and physical health including substance misuse, sexual health, self-care, and coping strategies for stress and anxiety. It encourages informed, positive lifestyle choices.

The Relationships Puzzle Piece explores friendships, romantic relationships, consent, sexual health, and communication. It helps students understand healthy boundaries, manage conflict, and navigate changing dynamics.

Changing Me concentrates on personal change and transitions, including puberty, sexual health education, body image, and preparing for life beyond school. It encourages self-reflection, and developing a positive sense of self.

Each Puzzle Piece includes:

  • Clear learning objectives and outcomes
  • Editable slides and comprehensive lesson plans
  • Built-in mindfulness practices
  • Reflection and assessment activities to consolidate learning

Video content made to support and inspire

We know that PSHE can cover some of the most important - and sometimes challenging - topics for young people and teachers alike. That’s why we recently introduced new video content to enhance Jigsaw PSHE 11–16. Videos are short, embedded directly into lessons, and designed to augment, not replace, teacher input.

Talking heads

Real, young people discuss key topics openly and honestly, helping students feel seen, heard, and more confident to join in.

Expert-led videos

Created to support teachers with sensitive topics like STIs, contraception and pregnancy, reducing pressure and guiding meaningful follow-up discussions.

Discuss & Reflect

Video in general helps to reduce heavy slide content, freeing up time for active debate and reflection.

Diverse perspectives

Videos feature young people from across the UK, ensuring a wide range of voices and experiences are represented.

Mindfulness at the core

Teenagers face intense pressures; exams, friendships, identity, social media to name a few.

That’s why every Jigsaw lesson integrates mindfulness practices, helping young people develop self-regulation, manage stress, and build focus. Our short, practical mindfulness activities empower students to pause, breathe, and make thoughtful choices. Skills that will support their wellbeing far beyond the classroom.
