RSHE ‘Steps to Success’ Checklists

RSHE Checklist

RSHE Guidance - Preparing for September 2026

Over the past few months, more than 2,000 schools have joined us to explore the updated RSHE guidance together through webinars, network meetings and one to one conversations.

The questions have been thoughtful.
The discussions generous.
The commitment to getting it right for children clear.

The one thing that has been clear is that schools are looking for support to navigate these changes together. So, alongside all the support, documents, training and compliant resources we have at Jigsaw, we have created these Primary and Secondary ‘Steps to Success’ Checklists – practical reflection tools covering progression, governance, staff confidence and inspection conversations. A place to start.

The are designed for all schools. And for Jigsaw schools, every element aligns with our fully updated programmes and detailed guidance, support and training already in place.

We hope you will find them a helpful place to pause and reflect.

On the Primary or Secondary checklist you will find steps on:

  • Reviewing curriculum progression in line with the 2025 statutory guidance
  • Updating policies and preparing governors for their oversight role
  • Strengthening staff confidence and whole-school training
  • Embedding safeguarding, inclusion and pupil voice
  • Preparing calmly and confidently for inspection conversations

A practical, structured self-check to help your school feel prepared for September 2026.
