Whether you are preparing Year 6 pupils to move on, or welcoming a new Year 7 cohort into secondary school – supporting successful transitions is key to pupil wellbeing, academic progress, and a lasting sense of belonging.

That’s why we have created this free pack of ready-to-teach, PSHE-aligned lessons and printable resources to help children feel more secure, supported, and excited about the changes ahead.

What’s Included in the Pack?

For Primary Teachers – Year 6 (Ages 10–11)

Two full-length classroom lessons and printable resources to help children:

  • Reflect on what they have achieved so far
  • Explore common feelings around change
  • Celebrate the ways they already belong—and how they can carry that forward
  • Understand that feeling nervous is normal, and support is always available

 

For Secondary Teachers – Year 7 (Ages 11–12)

Five short sessions and printable resources to support new starters as they begin their secondary school journey.

Topics covered:

  • Making new friends and fitting in
  • Getting lost and navigating a new space
  • Managing homework and building routines
  • Dealing with bullying anxiety
  • Developing a sense of belonging and confidence
