PSHE 3–11

Jigsaw follows a whole-school, spiral curriculum. Each year group explores the same Puzzle (topic) at the same time, helping to build a consistent whole-school ethos. Each Puzzle includes six weekly lessons, a launch assembly and built-in assessment tools.

Jigsaw uses formative and summative assessment to track progress across both knowledge and social-emotional learning. Summative assessment descriptors are provided for each unit, with built-in tools like Jigsaw Journals and Knowledge Organisers to support reflection and evidence-gathering.

Yes. Jigsaw assessment statements are integrated with major tracking systems like Target Tracker, Insight and Educater, making it easier to monitor pupil development alongside core subjects.

Jigsaw lessons are designed to be accessible and inclusive. Vocabulary lists are provided for each unit and available as editable Word docs, which many schools adapt or translate to support EAL learners. There’s also guidance on adapting materials for composite or mixed-age classes.

Every Jigsaw lesson contributes to British Values, SMSC, and preparation for life in modern Britain. Mapping documents show exactly how each unit links to the DfE guidance, helping schools evidence their provision.

Yes. Jigsaw provides specific resources and guidance to help faith-based schools deliver our programmes in line with their values and the SIAMS framework.

Our team regularly reviews and updates lesson content in line with national guidance, research, and current events, inclu ding topics like online safety, digital literacy and relationships education. You will always have access to the most up-to-date content via the Portal.

Absolutely. Schools can replace slides and upload custom images directly in the Portal to tailor lessons to their community’s needs, while retaining core learning outcomes.

PSHE 11–16

Jigsaw PSHE 11–16 includes full schemes of work for Years 7–11, with age-appropriate coverage of statutory RSHE, life skills, and wellbeing. Each unit includes lesson plans, slides, mindfulness resources, and built-in assessment tools.

Yes. All content is mapped to DfE RSHE guidance and reviewed annually to ensure compliance and relevance.

For Wales, all content is mapped against the Health and Wellbeing Area of Learning and Experience, as well as the mandatory Relationships and Sexuality Education Code. This is reviewed annually to ensure compliance

Lessons are adaptable to amend content or delivery order. There are also optional additional materials to supplement the full curriculum.

Each module includes formative and summative tools, including student reflection activities, self-assessments and other tools to support meaningful evaluation of learning.

Yes. The programme is designed to be inclusive and accessible. The Jigsaw Charter supports safe and inclusive learning environments alongside a range of learning activities to support engagement for students with a range of diverse needs.

RE 3–11

Jigsaw RE uses a spiral enquiry model to explore faiths, worldviews and belief systems. Pupils revisit key ideas over time to deepen their understanding. It’s designed for whole-school progression from EYFS to Year 6.

Yes. It’s mapped to the non-statutory 2024 National Framework, and aligns well with the IB PYP and IPC curricula.

Every unit contributes to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Empathy, respect and curiosity are central throughout the programme.

The programme is flexible and supports both approaches. Guidance and planning tools are included to support different implementation models.

Yes. Each enquiry includes assessment criteria, reflection activities and support for tracking progression.
