We have developed fantasticFREE resources for Anti-Bullying Week 2024 to support the Anti-Bullying Alliance's ‘Choose Respect’ theme for 2024. Keep scrolling to see what's included!
These extra resources extend and enhance the anti-bullying content already built into the Jigsaw materials as part of our annually reviewed Celebrating Difference Puzzle unit of work.
Alongside this, Jigsaw RE is celebrating Inter-Faith Week, which refers to encounters that aim to increase understanding between people of different faith groups. Our additional free content for Inter-Faith Week can also be used as part of your Anti-Bullying Week work, drawing on Jigsaw RE’s expertise in celebrating and exploring different World Views.
For Primary and Secondary ages. Join our virtual Push-Play Workshop with writer, Nik Perring, to explore and reflect on what makes us different and ways of respecting those differences. Nik's Workshop video brings his expertise and passion into your classroom, to help you break down the barriers to poetry writing.
Whole School Assembly
Our whole school assembly introduces this year’s ‘Choose Respect’ theme for Anti-Bullying Week, using videos of children sharing their idea, and this can then be used to start further discussion and reflection on the theme across your school.
Optional Extra Lesson Plans (for Ages 7-13)
Respect is something that everyone deserves regardless of the differences we have with each other, and recognising what respect looks like is important.
Our 2 primary lessons support further discussion and exploration beyond the existing content built into the Jigsaw 3-11/12 Programme, on what we mean by respect and why it is important.
Extension Activities for Primary
Our extension activities can be used in addition to these lessons, or instead of them, with children from Ages 5 yrs onwards to creatively explore the theme of ‘Choose Respect’ for Anti-Bullying Week 2024.
Existing Primary Jigsaw Lessons on Bullying
The topic of bullying is already built into our Celebrating Difference lessons from Ages 5-6yrs onwards, so that you can take part in Anti-Bullying Week without having to add any extra content if you do not want to.
This allows children to access this teaching and learning as part of their usual safe learning environment for Jigsaw PSHE.

Inter-Faith Booklist
For schools using Jigsaw RE, we have made a useful Book List of stories which develop understanding, strategies and skills for the ’Choose Respect’ theme during Inter-faith Week.
The books recommended promote this theme by featuring role models from different Worldviews, as well as broadening people’s understanding of how others live, and what is important to them, thereby encouraging children to develop tolerance and respect for our differences and individuality.
Write with Nik : Interfaith Workshop
For Primary and Secondary ages. Join our interfaith Virtual Push-Play Workshop with writer, Nik Perring, to explore and reflect how our different worldviews have an impact on how we see our relationships and the world around us.
Additional 11-16 lessons
A 60 Minute Lesson to support further discussion on respect and exploration beyond the existing content built-in to the Jigsaw 11-16 Programme, on what we mean by 'respect' and why it is important, and an additional 2 30 Minute Form Time Activities to develop understanding.
Existing Secondary Jigsaw Lessons
We have picked out lessons that can stand alone for schools visiting the Jigsaw resources just for Anti-Bullying Week, but the content of these lessons is developed and explored further in the wider Celebrating Difference materials, to deepen children’s learning and provide opportunities to explore the themes in a meaningful way, so you may see references to other lessons in the Jigsaw materials.
