Hosted by David Rees, our Jigsaw RE Programme Lead, will present with guest speaker Bill Moore (Chair of NASACRE • Former Chair of AREIAC • Buckinghamshire SACRE • Adviser for Hertfordshire & Slough • Chair of Governors)
In this inspiring session, Bill will explore:
- Why Religious Education is so important today
What makes the worldviews approach different, including insights from the 2018 CORE Report & the REC 2024 Toolkit - The relevance of the three lenses/ disciplinary lenses in understanding RE
- The importance of experiential elements and creative arts in building bridges through a worldviews approach
This session aims to empower RE leads and classroom teachers (whether they are a Jigsaw school or not) to deliver high-quality Religious Education and deepen their understanding of a worldviews approach; helping pupils become more engaged, empathetic and tolerant in an increasingly diverse world.
Our Welcome to Worldviews series will then continue with pre-recorded webinars released each week, covering core subject knowledge about 10 different religions and worldviews:
- Christianity
- Islam
- Judaism
- Sikhi
- Buddhism
- Sanatana Dharma (Hindu Dharma)
- Humanism
- Ethical Veganism
- Baha’i
- Paganism (NEW for 2026)
These webinars build confidence for all staff teaching RE/RVE by enhancing their understanding of key concepts within each worldview.
