Welsh Saints & Pilgrimage: A New RVE Enquiry for Ages 5–7

Ideal for: Primary, 3-11
Join our Jigsaw webinar 'Welsh Saints & Pilgrimage: A New RVE Enquiry for Ages 5–7', led by Heather Hansen and Adam Thomas.
Join our Regional Advisor for Wales, Heather Hansen, as she introduces our brand-new RVE enquiry exploring quiet places, pilgrimage and the inspiring stories of Welsh Saints — all rooted in the spiritual heritage of Wales itself.
This session focuses on how this ready-to-teach enquiry brings the central question — Do stories about Welsh Saints help Christians to lead a good life? — to life for children aged 5–7, through encounters with St Melangell, St Cenydd and St David, and real places including Pennant Melangell, the Gower Pilgrimage Way and St David’s Cathedral.
In this session, we will explore:
- What the six-piece enquiry includes and how it is structured
- How the enquiry integrates Cynefin, RVE lenses and the mandatory Statements of What Matters
- Cross-curricular connections across Geography, History and Art
- How to incorporate this enquiry into your school’s long-term RVE planning to meet Curriculum for Wales requirements
Who should attend: Ideal for RVE subject leads, class teachers and senior leaders in Welsh primary schools, whether you are a Jigsaw school or not.
