Listening Beyond Words: Breaking the silence around bullying for every child

Jigsaw Team

Join our Jigsaw webinar 'Listening Beyond Words', led by Dr Oscar Duke, Laura Gregory-White & Efrosyni Soumelidis

What if the children most in need of our help are the ones least able to ask for it?

This Anti-Bullying Week, the call to Break the Silence asks all of us to start the conversation, speak up, listen and act together. For many children, though, silence isn’t a choice. Fear, uncertainty, or a different way of communicating can stop them from finding the words. Children with SEND, and neurodivergent children in particular, can be more vulnerable to bullying and yet less likely to disclose it in ways adults readily recognise.

This session will explore how we listen beyond words:

  • the early signs that something isn’t right,
  • the different ways distress can show itself,
  • the barriers that keep children from seeking help

We’ll also consider how parents, schools and health professionals can work as one team around the child.

For staff across primary, secondary and specialist settings, and for parents and carers.

Register below to join Dr Oscar Duke, Laura & Efrosyni at 3:45pm on the 19th November.
